bitsmol is built to be private by default. The short version: your videos never leave your computer.

What bitsmol does with your videos

All video compression happens locally on your own Windows PC. Your video files are never uploaded to bitsmol, to any server, or to any third party. bitsmol does not store, copy, or transmit your videos anywhere. Compressed files are saved only to the location you choose on your own machine.

Data we collect

None for analytics or tracking. bitsmol does not include analytics, advertising, or usage tracking.

Network usage

Free version: works entirely offline. No internet connection is required or used.
Pro version: contacts the licensing provider (Gumroad) once to verify your licence key when you activate. This sends only your licence key and a machine identifier — never your videos.
Send-from-phone (Pro): when you choose to start a phone session, bitsmol opens a temporary private tunnel so your phone can send a video to your PC. The video travels directly to your computer for compression and is not stored on any third-party service. This feature is off unless you start it.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Gumroad. bitsmol never sees your payment details. Please refer to Gumroad's privacy policy for how they process payments.
